Driver's Education

Yukon Community Engagement offers a State approved Driver's Education Class. Students will be required to complete and pass 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction to receive a Certification of Completion.  A Birth Certificate is required for course enrollment. Students must be 15 years of age by the first day of class.

Students must bring a copy of the Oklahoma Driver's Manual. Manuals may be purchased at a local tag agency or you may download a copy here.

$325 Yukon Students
$350 Out of District Students
$300 YPS Employees

All registrations will be reviewed by Yukon Community Engagement. Student ID numbers are required for YPS students. If Student ID is not listed, Out of District Fees will be applied.

Registration, payment and birth certificate are required before attending the Driver's Ed class.

Classes will be held at Yukon Middle School - 801 Garth Brooks Blvd Yukon, OK 73099

Email the student's birth certificate to [email protected] after completing registration and making payment online.

NEED TO KNOW FOR CLASS:

  • Students must bring a copy of the Oklahoma Driver's Manual, paper and pencil to class each day.
  • Bring sack lunch, snack and drink each day.
  • The use of cell phones or other electronic devices are prohibited during class hours.
  • All school rules apply, including dress code.
  • All classes will begin promptly as scheduled.
  • Students must stay with the Driver's Education class during all breaks.
  • A Certificate of Enrollment/Completion for the Driver's Education Class will be issued at the completion of the class. (Keep the certificate in a safe place, there is a $25 fee to replace the form.)

DRIVING SESSIONS:
Driving sessions will be scheduled individually. Each student is required to complete the 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Instructors will pick up and drop off students at Yukon High School. Please give a 24 hours notice to cancel a scheduled driving session or a $25 rescheduling fee will be charged.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:
The Certificate of Enrollment/Completion of the Driver's Education Class will be complete once the student has completed the classroom and driving instruction. The completed certificate will waive the written exam for the Learner's Permit. (Keep the certificate in a safe place, there is a $25 fee to replace the form.)
