Elementary STEM

Yukon Public Schools offers STEM to our students at both of our 4th and 5th grade elementary sites, as well as two of our primary level elementary sites.

What is STEM and why is it important?

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education.  These fields are deeply intertwined in the real world and in how students learn most effectively.  All students should have the chance to become the innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve challenges facing our nation and our world, both today and tomorrow.  There is solid evidence to suggest that the fastest-growing job market in future years will be in STEM fields.  Future employees will need to utilize STEM skills for problem-solving in a wide range of industries.
