Teacher Note…
Our goal is to provide four-year-olds with the socialization tools to build a foundation for school success. We provide experiences, which address all aspects of child development, including social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
In our classroom, the children will focus on learning social skills. They will discover the fun in learning and building a foundation for future academics. Our design activities to enhance student’s dispositions to learn, to hypothesize, to predict, to look for cause and effect, and to search for alternate solutions
Centers…Through play, students are given opportunities to explore and thereby they discover new learning and knowledge. By way of their activities, the students grow and skills are enhanced.
because the students have many opportunities for interaction, students usually grow socially and emotionally. In addition, the students find themselves in many situations where they can practice their language skills. Their verbal and vocabulary skills also develop.
Large group… is teacher guided. The teacher helps the students review some previously learned material. Through the daily introduction of a book new information is presented to the group.
Students may practice many skills: listening, observation, language, socialization, etc. Each child is given individual recognition. Children learn to take turns and to build confidence through participation.
