Central Elementary

We are a Great Expectations Model School!!

The teachers and support staff have trained for four years to become a Great Expectations Model School. 99% of our teachers are trained in the Great Expectations Teaching Model. The Great Expectations Teaching Model is an eclectic approach to teaching that encompasses the very best of what is known about teaching today. Drawing from many theories, Teachers do whatever it takes to teach students through an integrated holistic curricula. Students become self-directed learners, productive citizens, effective communicators, critical thinkers, and cooperative contributors in the classroom as well as society.

Our teachers and support staff believe in the six Basic Tenets (Philosophies) of Great Expectations. They are: All Children Can Learn, Climate of Mutual Respect, Building Self-Esteem, Teacher Attitude and Responsibility, High Expectations, and Teacher Knowledge and Skill.

We welcome you to come and join our wonderful climate at Central Elementary!

It fosters creative thinking, problem solving, social skills, fine motor skills, cultural awareness, acceptance of differences, increased student and teacher engagement, and overall emotional well-being, culminating in the cognitive, physical and emotional development of children and youth.

95% of our teachers are trained in the Oklahoma A+ Schools method. We are currently implementing the Arts into our currticulum with the assistance of the Oklahoma A+ trainers. Oklahoma A+ Schools are helping educate young people in a new way that is progressive, experiential, and highly effective!
