"Millers Helping Millers Progam"
Our Athletic Department is promoting student-community outreach by developing the "Millers Helping Millers Program". This program is designed to encourage students to get involved by assisting with community needs or services. The many students who enjoy the benefits of our outstanding athletics program are working on many different service project across Yukon.
Take a look at the list of student accomplishments to date:
1. Yukon Director of Athletics David E. Fisher and the Athletic Department raised over $400 for The
North Pole Lock-Up M.D.A. Program in Yukon.
2. Girls Cross-Country Team does community service @ Central Elementary Helping Students and
Librarian.
3. Girls Softball Team raised almost $500 to purchase equipment for the Yukon H.S. special needs
students physical education class.
4. Wrestling Team holds canned food drive at wrestling match to benefit local food pantry.
5. Girls Basketball Team participated in the Susan G. Komen Foundation “10 Days For The Cure”
basketball event to help raise funds for the afiliate.
6. The following teams: Softball / Baseball / Wrestling / Cross Country / Track / Pom / Cheer all
participated in the annual Christmas assembly at Yukon H.S. raising funds to give toys for
Christmas to the Yukon Santa’s Toy Shop.
7. Tennis Team volunteers to work at the local Santa’s Toy Shop during holidays helping separate
toys for needy families In Yukon.
8. Girls Golf Team performs community service at Surrey Hills Elementary School helping out with
evening custodial duties as their evening janitor had taken ill.
9. Boys Golf and Football Team members volunteered to help unload pallets of paper at Skyview
Elementary School.
