Yukon Public Schools Launches Smartphone APP

Yukon Public Schools is excited to announce the new release of the district smartphone application on January 16, 2012. Parents and students can now follow the district and specific schools using the application and receive push notifications regarding Yukon Schools. This application will be very helpful in checking the status of school closing and staying up-to-date with district activities.

The app will feature:

  • Push messaging from both the district and school-site levels,
  • Online Parent Portal access,
  • District contact information,
  • Integrated links with YPS social media sites,
  • Lunch menus, district calendar, and much more.

The application was developed by School Connect, based in Norman, and is free to both the District and those who download the application. The app contains minimal advertisements, but there have been reasonable restrictions on these to ensure they are appropriate for young users. These advertisements help to pay for the development of the program and keep the cost of the app free for end users and the District.

School Boards Make a World of Difference

Their job is to establish a vision for the education program, design a structure to achieve that vision, ensure schools are accountable to the community and strongly advocate continuous improvement in student learning.  Read More...
