Yukon Alternative Learning Experience

The Yukon Alternative Learning Experience has been developed to provide support to students between the ages of 15 and 20 (9th – 12th grade) who have been
unsuccessful in traditional school settings or who are at risk of dropping out of school and have a sincere desire to complete their high school education. The primary function of the learning center is to provide an alternative method for students to earn the necessary credits to receive a high school diploma. We accomplish this by:

             Establishing relationships with our students
Fostering a sense of connection to the program
Working individually or in small groups
             Career counseling and personal counseling
             Social and life skills training

“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of …and the affection of children;… to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
